Requirements

Short list. If one of these is wrong nothing else in these docs will help you.

A current FXServer build from the official artifacts page. Windows is what I run and test on, the PowerShell tools in tools/ are Windows only. Linux artifacts should work for the resources themselves but I don’t test it.

txAdmin comes inside the artifacts (it’s the monitor system resource), you don’t install it separately. docs/TXADMIN.md in the repo has the long version, and tools/setup-txadmin.ps1 can download the artifacts for you:

Terminal window
.\tools\setup-txadmin.ps1 # latest recommended
.\tools\setup-txadmin.ps1 -Build 35245 # pin a build

server.cfg enforces build 3095:

sv_enforceGameBuild 3095

This is a legacy (not Enhanced) build. vMenu in the repo is also the legacy build to match. If you change the game build check docs.fivem.net first and test everything, the zombie animations and some props are build dependent.

Required. The networked zombie mode (the default) is literally OneSync peds created by the server, and squads, corpses, gadgets all rely on server side entities and state bags.

In txAdmin set OneSync in the settings page, not in server.cfg. txAdmin’s validator complains if onesync on is in the cfg, that’s why it’s commented out in the example.

Also keep this line:

set onesync_population false
  • MariaDB is the tested one. MySQL 8 should work.
  • You need the database server running and an empty database. You don’t import any .sql files, bs_core creates the tables itself (see Installation).
  • oxmysql goes in resources/ and is ensured before anything of ours.
  • Use a dedicated user, not root. The repo uses beyond@localhost on a database called beyondsurvival, charset utf8mb4.

These are in the repo but not required by the framework:

  • pma-voice - proximity voice and radio. Off right now because of console spam, see the comments in server.cfg.
  • ox_lib + ac_radio - radio UI. Needs the ox_lib release zip (with web/build/), not the GitHub source zip.
  • vMenu - staff only (F11), permissions in vMenu/config/permissions.cfg.

The map is the heavy part, not the scripts. Clients need decent RAM and a SSD. The server itself is fine on any normal box, the zombie caps scale down on their own when the server frame time goes up (see Zombies).
