Medical, death & corpses
All in bs_medical/config/config_medical.lua.
Going down
Section titled “Going down”With catchAllDeaths = true almost any lethal damage puts you down instead of dead: zombies, players, melee, vehicles. Except:
hardDeathOnExplosion = true,hardDeathOnDrown = true,hardDeathFallHeight = 15.0, -- metresWhile down (Medical.Settings):
| Key | Default | |
|---|---|---|
bleedoutTime | 300 | seconds before you bleed out |
catchHealth | 125 | health at which you go down |
stabiliseItem / stabiliseBonus | bandage / 90 | a bandage adds 90 s |
reviveItem / reviveTime / reviveHealth | medkit / 12000 ms / 30 | someone else picks you up |
shoutNoise | 45 | shouting for help (E) makes noise, zombies hear it too |
Keys while down: E shout, G bandage, H call for help (pings players in 250 m, Medical.Help), R self-revive with a medkit (Medical.SelfRevive), hold X give up.
Other players can carry you (Medical.Carry). In PvP Medical.PvP.downFirst = true means players go down first too, and allowExecution = false means they can’t finish you.
The downed state is the bsDowned statebag on the player, other resources read it (party HUD, roster).
Dying and respawn
Section titled “Dying and respawn”wipeOnDeath = true, respawnHealth = 120,respawnHunger = 45.0,respawnThirst = 45.0,With wipeOnDeath your whole inventory moves into your body, left where you fell (see below). Anyone can loot it, you included if you get back in time. Infection survives death, that’s the point of it.
Where you wake up: respawnPoints (Sandy Shores and Pillbox medical by default), the random spot logic in Medical.Respawn (500 to 1000 m away, avoiding avoidZones), or a respawn piece you built and claimed with bs_building.
Your body
Section titled “Your body”Medical.Corpse: your body stays in the world and can be searched.
lifetime = 3600, -- hard cap, secondsemptyGrace = 20, -- looted-out body goes after thissearchDistance = 2.5,searchTime = 3500,blip = true, -- only you see itThe body is a server-created copy of your ped with a container on it. It goes when it’s looted out (after emptyGrace) or when lifetime passes. Zombies feed on bodies and they rot (rotPerBite, biteInterval).
